Trust In The Lord

Image
Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) Trust the Lord: When we learn to trust someone, we place our faith in him or her. We do not doubt what he or she says or does. He states that there are certain areas of seeking God's guidance and His answers to our requests in which we we do not know how to pray. Tozer explains that we sometimes ask God to bless us and then give us what we want. Sometimes we pray this way, and it is not what He wants for us. He tells his readers that we should seek God's will and ask Him for His desires for the circumstances we see around us and wish Him to change in our lives and the lives of the church. This is a huge challenge for me. I have to study the situation and then think of how God sees it. Then I have to ask Him “if it is in Your will,” before I present my petitions. Tozer also reminds us that God answers petitions that we ask in Jesus' Name. I find these things fascinating. I definitely have tried to add these approaches to my praying to Hi...
