The Lord's Blessing

Each November, we hear people ask one another, “What are you thankful for?” What should we be thankful for? How has God blessed us?

He has blessed us with His presence.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)

Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name;
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.

Psalm 140:13( NKJV)

We need to be thankful for His presence in our daily lives. I pray that each person that attends a Bible-preaching church feel God's presence throughout each day. Also, that all those who enter those building feel God' Holy Spirit there. We are never alone. God's presence is always with us, whatever our need.

God is always faithful.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.
With my mouth will I make known Your
faithfulness to all generations.

For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever.
Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.

O Lord God of hosts,
Who is mighty like You, O Lord?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You.

Psalm 89:1-2, 8 (NKJV)

We need to remember that. He is faithful even when we are not. Can we count the number of times God has helped us through a great need? Several years ago, I purchased a book, entitled, “ God Works the Night Shift” He is at work protecting us, even when we don't realize it.

God is merciful.

Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions.
According to Your mercy remember me,
For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Psalm 25:7 (NKJV)

We should be thankful for His mercy We truly do not deserve His mercy. We truly do not deserve all He allows us to be, to have, or to do. It is because of His great mercy that each of us are who we are today.

God guides us.

This also comes from the Lord of hosts,
Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance.

Isaiah 28;29(NKJV)

For this is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide. Even to death.

Psalm48:14 (NKJV)

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come,

He will guide you into all truth.

for He will not speak on His own authority,

but whatever He hears He will speak.

and He will tell you things to come.

John 16:13 (NKJV)

God guides His children even today like He guided Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Joshua, David, Ruth, Hannah, Joseph (OT) and Joseph (NT)

Prayer:

Father God: Thank you for all You do to help us as we learn of Your and grow into the children You want us to be. Please let us feel Your presence. Remind us of Your faithfulness. Let us be aware of Your mercy to us. And please continue to guide us through each of our days. In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.
